Presentation of Harri Pritichard Jones' book, I segni a margine, translated by Bianchi & Siviero on occasion of its publication by MOBYDICK.
Harri Pritichard Jones is respected in both the fields of medicine and literature and is author of fifteen volumes of novels and short stories, as well as works of literary criticism and translation.
He was born in England in 1933 and was educated on the island of Anglesey and in Trinity College, Dublin. He worked as a doctor and a psychiatrist in the Cardiff area. Harri has acted as a judge for Welsh language poetry and literature awards.
His work has been translated into seven languages (to date) and has been read on Radio Cymru, Radio Wales, BBC Radio 3 and 4 and Radio Denmark. He has also written several TV scripts. Harri has won prizes from Barn, the National Eisteddfod and the Arts Council.
Harri Pritchard Jones was recently awarded the City of Sassari International Award for Minority Languages which is given biannually to writers who have made a special contribution to minority language literature.
The translators Andrea Bianchi and Silvana Siviero are a husband and wife team of translators. They translate from English, French and German into Italian. Andrea Bianchi and Silvana Siviero have been instrumental in bringing Welsh writing to an Italian audience through their work on a series for Mobydick publishers.
Harri Pritichard Jones will talk to Gino Scatasta of the University of Bologna about the book. The translators will also be present.
